8th Grade Non-Par Intervention
If your 8th grade child is currently not meeting the requirements for culmination, you must attend a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 17th at 2:45 p.m. in the Library. The meeting that was scheduled for March 10th was postponed until the 17th of March.

Pin & Ribbon Ceremony
On March 2, 2010 students received their invitations to the Pin & Ribbon Ceremony. Congratulations to the eligible 8th grade students. The ceremony will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 8:15 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

6th Grade Magnet Student Led Conferences
On March 10th, 2010, Ms. De Sensi & Ms. Fernandez will hold student led conferences in the school library from 3:00pm to 4:30pm.

Frost Middle School Book Club
Join Frost's Book Club beginning February 22, 2010. The club meets Mondays and Wednesday during Nutrition in the library and Tuesdays and Thursdays during Lunch in room 4 in Upper A-Building.

YS Plus after school program
If your student is not picked up by 3:30p.m.( M, W, Th, F) and 2:00p.m. on Tuesdays, they are required to join YS Plus by filling out an application or meet wth the Youth Services coach in the gymnasium. Applications are available in the main office or the gymnasium.

7th Grade Magnet- Student Led Conferences
On Wednesday February 03, 2010 the 7th grade magnet program will host their annual student led conferences from 3:00pm to 6:00pm in B-Building's rooms 28, 32, 34, and 39.

CHOICES Applications Late Deadline
The Office of Student Integration will accept late applications until January 29th, 2010. If you're still interested in applying to a magnet program fill out the Choices application and mail it to the Office of Student Integration. You will be notified of your admission's status by April.

Congratulations to Frost's National Geographic Geography Bee winners!
Every student in our school participated in the first round of the National Geographic Geography Bee through their history classes. The final round took place on December 14th, in the library as Mr. Mark, Mrs. Wrobleski, and Ms. Curtis asked hundreds of questions to the contestants who represented every History class in our school.

Frost Supports Local Animal Shelters
This week Frost students are collecting CLEAN blankets and towels (do not need to be new) and NEW pet toys for the thousands of animals in local animal shelters. The shelters are totally over capacity due to economic hard times and are severely understaffed and short on supplies. Frost students are hoping warm blankets and pet toys will make their holiday a bit cheerier as they wait anxiously for new homes. Clean blankets and new pet toys can be brought to their homeroom or Room 50 every day this week.

The Run for Fun Has Been Cancelled
The Run for Fun race was cancelled early this morning due to overnight flooding at Griffith Park.

Advance Band and Strings/Art Department Exhibition - 7 p.m - 9 p.m.
The advanced band and strings classes will present a culminating performance on Friday, December 11, from 7 p.m - 9 p.m. in the school gymnasium. The Art Department will participate with an art exhibition of student work.

District Mandated Random Metal Detector and Locker Searches
will be conducted throughout the year. The purpose of a metal detection and locker search program within District schools is to deter the bringing of weapons on to school grounds, thereby reducing the potential for violent incidents. The search locations and students are selected randomly in accordance with LAUSD policy.

Percussion Ensemble - Winter Concert
This winter concert will feature the full Percussion Ensemble playing a mixture of holiday favorites and popular songs. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, in Room 8.
