![]() 8th Grader, Omar Quezada Honored as Volunteer of the Year
On April 12th, eighth grader, Omar Quezada was honored by the County of Los Angeles as 2010 Youth Volunteer of the Year. Omar has been volunteering the last two years at El Cariso Park in Sylmar. The staff of El Cariso Park in Sylmar appreciates Omar's volunteer service. "Omar is willing to do everything he is assigned and even goes beyond what is expected of him," said his supervisor. "He is always on time an has the ability to command respect from the after school and summer campers without being overbearing or stern."Omar has volunteered with the park for nearly two years and has donated 400 hours of service. At El Cariso Park, he teaches the younger children how to use the computer, helps out with field trips, playground activities and arts and crafts. Omar attended a Volunteer Recognition and Awards Luncheon at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to accept his award. Congratulations to Omar!! |
